The WRC is an independent statutory body that doesn't favour either employers or employees. Its aim is to resolve disputes between the parties but they make their decision based on the evidence presented by both sides.

If the WRC finds in favour of the employee, it may order your business to pay financial compensation or reinstate the employee to their former job.

How long does it take the WRC to process claims?

WRC claims have a median time of ten months from the date the complaint is submitted to the date a decision issues.

Will the details of my case be published?

Yes. The Irish Supreme Court has ruled that WRC hearings must be held in public and that that decisions must be published including the names of the parties.
