The role of the Employment Law Advocate is critical to the on-going success and future growth of Peninsula Business Services. You will receive EAT/LRC/Equality Tribunal/Labour Court and ERS cases allocated from the Legal Services Administration team, these cases can be located anywhere within the Republic of Ireland. You will be required to case manage the file fully from client inception stage through to any necessary hearings until the matter subject of the case file is concluded. This role is based in our office in East Point Business Park.

Duties will include

  • Reviewing case files when received from Legal Services Administration team and deal with any issues arising from them
  • Deal with any preliminary matters and where necessary and/or appropriate, negotiations, settlement agreements, ERS negotiations
  • Arrange and undertake client visits/conference calls and obtain full instructions from all relevant parties, obtain any relevant documentary evidence in order to fully prepare the case for hearing
  • Represent clients in any 3rd party hearings
  • Deal with post-hearing matters arising including case reviews and appeals
  • Complete relevant/associated administration within set timescales
  • Participate in the 24-Hour Advice Service schedule for 2 days per month to provide telephone and email HR/Employment Law advice to clients in line with relevant SLAs

Skills and experience required

  • Strong caseload management experience
  • Experience dealing fully with the multiple Forums/3rd Party Bodies
  • Employment Law qualification necessary
  • Law and/or HR Degree/Masters
  • Strong HR/Employee Relations experience within a unionised, multi-site environment
  • Confident and forward thinking approach
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills
  • The ability to work under pressure within a fast-paced environment while working to tight SLAs/deadlines is essential
  • Ability to work on own initiative with relatively little supervision
  • Mediation qualification desirable but not essential
  • Full, clean driver’s license and own car is essential
