Peninsula Director Alan Price was interviewed by Eamonn Holmes of Sky News this morning to give some practical advice to employers when dealing with employees during the current spell of warm weather, and how to deal with workers who take advantage of the heatwave by "pulling a sickie".
Alan outlined a 30% increase in calls to our Advice Service due to weather related absenteeism, with excuses ranging from sunburn, pets being sick, to car-tyres melting. Alan advised employers to work with their employees and if possible be flexible with your workforce on standards of dress or on finishing times.
